A sentimental mood
So often, sadness is the curse of intelligence. It's like the more you remember - The more you will wish you could forget. And the more you understand certain things . . . The more you will wish you didn't understand them.
When I am in a certain mood I can find myself missing pretty much every person I have ever met. And I don't just mean lost loves or former friends. Literally, I mean missing people who I might have spoken to one time on a train. Or missing people who worked as cashiers in the local shops when I was a kid. Or missing the drunks and the gamblers and the good time girls I used to see on street corners. Or missing people I never even used to like before . . . as if I would give anything in this world for them to be here annoying me again! _ Seriously - it's not normal. I must be the most sentimental guy in the world. Or if not . . . perhaps the loneliest.

There's a grief that lives in awareness itself. The more present you are, the more you feel how fleeting everything is, including the people who passed through your life like weather. Missing a stranger from a train isn't strange. It's what happens when your heart is paying attention.
Yes, I would say you are a sentimentalist. That's a good thing. My husband is too, and that's what I love about him.
